First intake coming · Dates to be announced

Develop your personal practice and learn how to create thoughtful, inclusive and well-structured yoga classes for others.

COYAMA's 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training combines practical teaching experience with movement, anatomy, philosophy, sequencing and professional development. You will be supported in developing your own voice as a teacher rather than being taught to reproduce somebody else's style.

From personal practice to teaching others

More than knowing the postures

Teaching yoga involves more than demonstrating a sequence of movements.

A confident teacher must be able to observe, communicate, adapt and create a class that has a clear purpose. They need to understand what they are teaching, why they are teaching it and how different people may experience it.

This training brings those elements together. You will explore yoga as a physical, philosophical and reflective practice while developing the practical skills needed to guide others responsibly.

"You are not being trained to perform a perfect class. You are learning how to understand, structure and teach yoga in your own informed voice."

Aspiring teachers · Committed practitioners

Is this training for you?

This course is designed for people who want to train as yoga teachers and for committed practitioners who want to develop a deeper understanding of yoga. It may be right for you if you want to:

Qualify to teach yoga
Develop confidence speaking and teaching in front of a group
Deepen your personal yoga practice
Understand movement, anatomy and sequencing more clearly
Bring yoga into retreats, workplaces or wellbeing settings
Add yoga teaching to an existing professional practice
Explore yoga beyond its physical postures

You do not need to be exceptionally flexible or able to perform advanced postures. A consistent personal practice and a willingness to learn, reflect and participate are more important.
