Practical, in-person training for people who want to create safe, considered and memorable sound experiences. Learn how to work with sound instruments, structure a complete session and confidently guide participants from arrival to closing.
BEGINNER FRIENDLY
SMALL GROUP LEARNING
IPHM-ACCREDITED TRAINING
From learning the instruments to leading the experience
A well-facilitated session brings together instrument knowledge, thoughtful pacing, participant care and a clear journey from beginning to end.
COYAMA's Sound Foundation Facilitator Training gives you the practical foundations to bring those elements together. By the end of the course, you will have a repeatable framework for creating and delivering your own sound bath experiences.
"You will learn by listening, playing, observing and facilitating, not simply by reading about the practice"

What you'll learn
Eight core areas
across the training
01
Understanding Sound
Explore the foundations of sound, vibration, resonance and attentive listening, and how these principles shape the participant's experience.
02
Working with Instruments
Develop practical familiarity with instruments such as crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, chimes.
Learn how to play with control, awareness and intention rather than simply producing more sound.
03
Building a Sound Journey
Understand how to use rhythm, tone, silence, intensity and transitions to create a coherent session.
You will explore how a sound bath can develop naturally from arrival and settling through to immersion, grounding and closing.
04
Holding the Space
Learn how to welcome participants, explain the experience and create an environment that feels calm, clear and professionally held.
05
Participant Care
Explore screening, consent, comfort, accessibility, professional boundaries and the responsibilities involved in facilitating a group experience.
06
Responding with Confidence
Consider common situations that can arise before, during and after a sound bath, and learn how to respond without disrupting the wider experience.
07
Closing the Experience
Learn how to close a Sound Bath with intention, guiding participants back to full awareness and ensuring they feel settled, supported and ready to continue their day.
08
Building Your Practice
Receive practical guidance on venues, equipment, session formats, pricing, insurance and communicating your new offering.
the coyama method
Sound · Structure · Care
COYAMA training is built around three foundations.
i
Sound
Learn to listen, select and play instruments with sensitivity and control.
ii
Structure
Understand how to turn individual sounds into a complete, intentionally paced experience.
iii
Care
Create an environment in which participants feel informed, comfortable and properly supported.
Together, these foundations give you a practical framework you can adapt to your own voice, audience and setting.
You are not being taught to imitate somebody else's performance. You are learning how to develop a practice that is responsible, confident and distinctly your own.

You'll leave with the confidence to run a safe, well-held session from day one, plus an honest sense of what it takes to build this into a practice or business.
